why we should all go a little greener

this chunk of ice melts at such a rapid rate that the water
released from the bottom constantly sprays with a force that can rock a cruise
ship.

you may say, "well then stupid don't take a cruise into such fragile
areas of our environment"! and my response is, yes you're right. that
said, the cruise lines have taken measures to reduce the print they
make on the waterways. it is one of the most amazing things that i've
ever seen. i wish the world could see what we're losing. well here you
go.

keep in mind that there are small changes that can be made. we all know
that individual water bottles require vast amounts of petroleum to
manufacture them. so perhaps use your own filtered water and a reusable
bottle. its cheaper and better for mother earth. it may also get some
of the schmucks in the manufacturing industries as well as in
washington to revisit the idea that we are tired of throwing away a
large portion of our paychecks on non-renewable resources. start using
reusable grocery bags. if you want i'll make you some pretty funky
one's that will surely have every eye in your grocery store wondering
who you're awesome and certainly crafty friends are and how they can be
part of our click. just lemme know!

so i'm a long way from being able to put my garbage in my suv (yes i
own one too) and fly off into the future to rearrange my children's
attitudes with dr. emmett brown, but i can start by encouraging my
friends and family to stand up and take notice of what we throw away,
what we don't reuse, what we don't recyle and realize that it's pretty
stupid not to. we just can't afford not to any more. besides, is it
really still hip to be square? i say ride the green train. i'll step
down from my soapbox for today. don't worry, i'll be right back on it
tomorrow.
