back...but not really.

back in pitts this am. it's weird to get back into things. i started packing things to take to haiti already. one of djedly's favorite toys was what he ganked from the shatto family. of all things, he loved a wind up walking easter egg. i dug through our toys here at home until i found one. it will accompany a blinking light up frog which should also produce a resounding approval. he also loves play dough...gonna get some of that!i may be back to cleaning my house, but my head is still in haiti. a piece of my heart too.

we're space bagging dollies and doing all the last minute things necessary to get ready for our trip to meet our son djedly. we're very excited!!! we haven't posted much lately because we still haven't gotten any more information or photos on him. we'll certainly have a bit to share when we come home. we're hoping that a few days of fun in the sun and pool at the hotel will warm him up to us. we're hoping too that we'll all have the strength to hug and kiss each other farewell knowing that we can't bring him home this time...which is really difficult. i'm so thankful for the opportunity to go meet him. i just don't know how i'll be able to get through leaving him behind, let alone each of the days that follows before we can bring him home.

the sky is the limit...

just a few more days and perhaps my health will be back on track. i have high hopes - high apple pie in the sky hopes!

friday will be really hard. it will be one of those experiences i've dreaded since the last time i went through one of those experiences. one of those times that i think i have reached the limit of what i can handle and yet somehow i keep pulling through. i keep mystifying the doctors who work on me when they open me up and see the mess that is my digestive system.

and i'll find that when i wake up i'll see the strength that i lack looking right at me in my sweet husband's eyes.

the strength of the hold he'll have on my hand will pull me through.

the soft touch he'll have when i need help standing.

the gentle smile that he'll have on his face when i need to see it the most.

he'll be there. he always is. and i'll get through it. and i'll be stronger. and the sky will once more be the limit.
